Hannah launched a successful embroidery tutorial business from her unique Michigan she shed. This “Winter Woodland Wonderland” she shed is sending good holiday vibes everywhere.
Hannah has surely been busy inspiring women everywhere to find joy in a she shed. Hannah and her husband Nathan found their dream location for country living and together they built a creative life close to nature.
Built from Scratch
To house Hannah’s business, her husband Nathan crafted an enchanting, cozy she shed in the lush outdoor space within their 10-acre woodland wonderland. The she shed was made from reclaimed oak barnwood. Painted barn red and filled with warm family antiques, Hannah’s shed was a shoe-in for the month of December in She Shed Living’s annual calendar.
What did Hannah use her shed for? Hannah was intrigued with embroidery and turned to YouTube for the basics and began to teach herself. She began to sell her creations, take custom orders, and attract Instagram followers (@sherwoodforestcreations). “While I’d hoped to host workshops in the she shed,“ Hannah says, “COVID necessitated Zoom classes,” allowing her to reach more people across the country. The pandemic also pushed her to launch online DIY embroidery sets with video tutorials, and sales skyrocketed! Her successful embroidery business, Sherwood Forest Creations, began to flourish.

Hannah says her she shed is her favorite place to be, and she certainly appreciates what she has. It gives so many of us a nudge to consider creating something like the retreat that Hannah enjoys.
