Adrian Schwab is a woman with a gift for creating. The former nurse founded Mallory Square Studios after the famous waterfront plaza in Key West that is filled with artisans, musicians and street performers. “I met a hippie chick on a bicycle who encouraged me to make jewelry instead,” she recalls.
Once she made the leap, Adrian decided to build a small studio in her back yard to create and grow the business. She has found even more passion for bead making with her she shed studio space. It’s private enough for creating and it’s also where she meets clients who eventually become friends.
The design and style of her space was carefully planned out. In fact, Adrian built the entire shed with a treasured piece in mind: the antique double watch maker bench that she owned. Her windows are located high up on the walls so that the walls would be free for storage space. The extra time she took to design function and beauty in her space was worth it. She found objects with history, patina and function.
Although not large, the studio can accommodate up to three women for classes in basic jewelry making. Adrian’s specialty is gorgeous one-of-a-kind lamp post beads. You can find more information at mallorysquarestudios.com.
Adrian continues to open doors and find new people and places to connect with. We have been one of the fortunate ones to have the pleasure of sharing her joy.
